The Story Behind Banksia

Some designs come from a place.

Banksia came from my love for Australia's beautiful native flowers.

I've always found myself stopping to admire them.

Banksias, golden wattles, flowering gums, daisies and proteas... they're all so different, yet somehow they belong together. Every time I see them, they remind me how beautiful Australia really is.

When I started designing this rug, I knew I wanted to bring my favourite native flowers together into one piece :))

Not because they were trendy but simply because I love them.

After I finished the design, I noticed something I hadn't planned at all.

The more I looked at it, the more I could see the gentle shape of a koala hidden within the pattern.

I loved it even more because it felt like it was always meant to be there.

Now I can't look at Banksia without seeing it.

To me, this design is a little love letter to Australia.

To its incredible native flowers, unique wildlife and the quiet beauty that's all around us if we take a moment to notice it.

I hope Banksia brings a little warmth, a little happiness, and a touch of Australia wherever life takes you.
