She invited us to her home, and we spent the afternoon under a cozy pagoda, listening to the rain and breathing in the fresh, earthy air.
Kalani shared stories of Hawaiian culture, showed us tools made from tree branches used for traditional massage, and taught us how to craft native toys from leaves. As we worked, Kalani’s son arrived with a freshly baked banana pie , a local treat that made us feel even more at home.
